Tuesday 2/21/12 Numbers 8,9; Acts 28 - Following the "Cloud" of the Spirit
S- Numbers 9:17-18 MSG, When the Cloud lifted above the Tent, the People of Israel marched out; and when the Cloud descended the people camped. The People of Israel marched at God's command and they camped at his command.
O - The Lord led His people with this visual sign of cloud by day and fire by night. The directions were very clear and they followed them well through the wilderness.
A - If only the leading of the Holy Spirit was always this obvious! Sometimes, it's a gentle thought or nudge; other times it's clear and loud. But our situation is different - in that we have the Holy Spirit residing with us inside our spirits; we are joined with the Spirit. So many of His leading's are from within. This is more intimate and personal, but it requires developing our spiritual ears (heart) so that we can indeed hear where the Spirit is leading us. Then it is our job to follow, something the Israelites were good at - they followed the cloud faithfully.
P - Father, may we become fine-tuned to hearing the quiet voice of the Spirit. When an unusual positive thought comes, may we be bold and courageous enough to follow it. May we become excellent hearers and faithful doers. Amen.
