March 7, 2012 -Deuteronomy 5,6; Psalm 43; Mark 14
S - Psalm 43:5 Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.
O - The psalmist is depressed and telling himself how to get out of that dark place.
A - When we put our hope in God and we praise Him, we take the focus off of ourselves. When we're depressed, all we are doing is looking at ourselves and our sad situations. How can we find hope in that? But, when we focus on God, and all that He has done and can do, all other things pale by comparison.
P - Father God, help me to keep my focus on You, especially when times get rough. Lift my head, Lord, to gaze upon Your majesty.
