Friday, 3/11/10 – Deuteronomy 16-18; Psam 38; Galatians 2 – “CHRIST LIVES IN ME!”
S – Galatians 2:20 – “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. [NIV]
O – By confidence in the Son of God, Paul is saying he would look to Him for strength, and trust His promises and His grace. We have the living Christ within us. When He died, we died. When He arose, we arose with Him. He lives out His life through us as we walk by faith. Paul speaks of the impact of Christ’s love in giving up His life for us, and declares that he will live his life entirely for Him, who had redeemed us by His blood.
A – I love the way the Message Bible translates this verse: “Christ's life showed me how, and enabled me to do it. I identified myself completely with him. Indeed, I have been crucified with Christ. My ego is no longer central. It is no longer important that I appear righteous before you or have your good opinion, and I am no longer driven to impress God. Christ lives in me. The life you see me living is not "mine," but it is lived by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
P – Lord, You are the source of Life itself and Your grace is amazing; as it resides in us! Teach us to walk in the freedom of grace-saturated faith so that we may walk fully confident of Your life living through us.
