Monday, 6/14/10 – 1 Kings 15; 2 Chronicles 13,14; Philippians 4 – “Peace that Surpasses All Understanding”
S – Philippians 4:7 – “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
O – God’s peace has an amazing harmonizing capacity-bringing our hearts to a settled and stable place. Because He dwells in our heart, and rules our heart, He keeps our heart in peace. It passes understanding because it is of a different nature from any human peace, it is a peace which He has purchased, and which comes from the Father through the power of the Holy Spirit.
A – This is a great verse to remind us that because Christ indwells us, we have access to an amazing gift: the peace of God! This peace comes to us when we choose right thinking, right praying, and right living. Worry is the tension between the mind and the heart. The peace of God will act as a guard for our heart and mind if we meet the conditions He gives.
P – Lord of Peace, we ask for an anointing on our minds and hearts so that we will have sharp discernment when we choose the road of worry, or any road contrary to Your peace. Teach us to submerge ourselves In the truth of Your love and grace so that we live our lives out of your amazing peace!
