Wandererd Away

S- 1 Tim. 1:6 - "Some have wandered away ..."

O - We start out this walk with a clear sense of the fact that we are sinners in need of a Savior and the knowledge that God loves us and has a plan for our life. The Word of God and the Holy Spirit become our guide. This is sometimes called "first love" in the bible. Then life happens and disappointments come. Failures can disillusion us and successes can distract us. Sin can so easily creep in. Without fully realizing it, we can wander from God, from his Word, from godly doctrine and lifestyle and from being an active part of a church.

A - Paul calls Timothy and us to "fight the good fight, holding on to faith and a good conscience." To do that we need to pay attention to God's word, the Holy Spirit, and to our own spiritual condition. We need to look in and look around us, and ask ourself "Where am I spiritually? Have I wandered off the path?"

P - Lord, open my eyes to my true spiritual condition and my need for you, your Word and your Holy Spirit.
