“Being put to the test”
S - Exodus 1:17 “But the midwives feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the male children alive.”
O- The Egyptian king put out a command to the Hebrew midwives that they were to execute all the male children being birthed by the Hebrew woman.
A - There will be times when our faith and beliefs put forth by God will be put to the test. The world will command us to forsake the straight and narrow path and try to cause us to fear and out of that fear forsake God’s ways. It’s at those times we need to make the choice to stand strong in our faith no matter what the circumstances may hold for us. The Word tells us that the Lord will deliver us out of all of our troubles. Their fear of God more than the king of Egypt helped them to stay on the path of righteousness. Hopefully we too will have such great fear and faith that we will continue to walk in righteousness to be used to save many.
P – Lord, may our reverence towards you remain strong. Help us to be more like these midwives whose faith and fear in You was greater than the fear of man can do. May our fear (reverence) towards you be great because our love for you is greater. Amen
