HIDE AND SEEK

by Vivian Bills

Wednesday - July 14, 2010 - Isaiah 19-21; Hebrews 11

S - Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

O - This is what it means to have faith. It is like seeing with spiritual eyes instead of our physical eyes.

A - God wants us to seek Him out with our spiritual eyes. One of my husband's favorite answers to his inquisitive children when they ask "Why, Papa?" is "To make little children ask questions!" He always says it with a big smile. Dan delights in his children's desire to find things out. In this same way, God the Father delights in our searching Him out and discovering His will for our lives. Why do children love the game Hide and Seek so much? Is it because the discovery is so exciting and revelatory? This is how we build our faith in God. We go searching for Him and He lets us find Him.

P - Father, I thank You that You revealed Yourself to me when I went searching for You. Increase my faith, Lord.
