S- Isaiah 6:1 - In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted.
O - In a time of change, loss,uncertainty, and transition, Isaiah had a vision of God, of the King who will never die. In our transitory, ever-changing circumstaqnces, we need a vision of our transcendent God who is high and lifted up. We need to lift our eyes beyond the temperal to the eternal. Yet this was not just a mystical, other worldly, feel good experience! From the threshold of heaven, Isaiah receives his call, his ministry to a very specific time and people on the earth.
A - I need a vision of God as "high and lifted up". I need the perspective of heaven applied to my life.
P - Lord, we lift up our eyes to You, not to avoid earth's realities, but to get your perspective and to hear your call. We receive comfort, strength, direction right now from You, our Mighty God. Amen.
