S: Isaiah 37:35 “I will defend this city and save it for my sake and for the sake of David my servant.”
O: Again one of the Israel’s enemies (Sennacherib, the king of Assyria) is promising the definite destruction of Jerusalem. In response to this King Hezekiah prays for God (once again) to be merciful to the people. God’s reply: “I will defend this city and save it for my sake and for the sake of David my servant.”
A: Who is David: A shepherd, psalmist, warrior, king, a fallen man, and yet a man after God’s own heart. Throughout generations God referred back to his covenant with David and saved the people not because they deserved it, but because David had a covenant with the Father. Who am I: A mom, wife, daughter, sister, a fallen woman, and yet a woman after God’s own heart. Who knows what can happen through me (us) if I (we) remain just a child after God’s own heart.
P: Father keep me in pursuit of your heart for the rest of my days. May the legacy I leave behind be that I pursued you constantly.
