Mt. 20-22 "A Place of Honor"

S-Matt. 20:21 "What is you want?" He asked. She said "Grant that one of these two sons of mine may sit at your right and the other at your left in your kingdom.

O-The mother of Zebedee, had a request to Jesus. The request was that her two son's James & John, would be favored and seated in a place of honor, one on each side of Jesus. Little did she know what she was asking, and the price to be paid for this place of honor.

A- Often we desire the place of honor, but do not realize the cost for that seating. Jesus knew the moment of crucification was to come. Would James and John's desire still be to be seated on the right and left of Jesus? Sometimes, we do not know what we ask! It is easy to say, "sure I can do what it would take to have that placement" as James and John replied to Jesus. It is best to be asked to be in the seat of honor, than to put yourself there. Jesus came to serve, not to be served.....the first shall be last and the last shall be first. Whoever wants to be great must become a servant.

P- Father, thank you that you came to serve and that you came to give.....thank you for your sacrifices. Teach us Lord how to follow in your ways, to be humble and teachable servants. Amen
