Tuesday 11/30/10 Romans 1-4 - ENCOURAGED IN THE FAITH
S - Rom 1:11-12, Paul: "I long to see you so that... you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith." Rom 4:20-21, Yet he (Abraham) did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had the power to do what he had promised.
O - Paul wanted to encourage the Roman believers and planned a visit to see them. He was hoping they could encourage each other in the faith. Before going, he told them in a letter about Abraham's unbelievable walk of faith.
A - Testimonies are so powerful! Wow, the fact that Abraham didn't doubt God's promise, even though his and Sarah's bodies were way too old to produce a child, is a powerful story. He walked in faith knowing that God had the power to do whatever He promised. We need these promises. And we need to walk in this kind of faith! We need to see how God fulfills His promises in others - we are encouraged to not doubt in our own life when we see other's not doubting and God fulfilling!
P - Father, may we have the faith of Abraham. May we see the need to encourage each other as Paul did. May we be open about Your faithfulness in our lives so that others will be encouraged!
