S - Gen. 37: 19-20 - "Here comes that dreamer?" they said to each other. "Come now, let's kill him..."
O - A young man, a dreamer, favored by his Father experienced rejection, betrayal and cruelty by his brothers. In Genesis 37, we see that a father's favoritism and a unique call bred jealousy and hatred in Joseph's brothers. This almost resulted in murder, and created much suffering for Joseph and his father. Despite it all, God protected Joseph from murder and was with him, on his difficult journey to the fulfillment of his God-given dream. He kept Joseph's faith intact and used what was meant for evil to help save a nation which would prduce the Savior of the world.
A - Joseph tells me that life is tough and that I must hold on to my integrity,my dreams and my faith in God, despite the sin, sadness, evil and the disappointments and struggles of life.
P - Father, may your kingdom come and your will be done despite the sins and failings of your people. May we stay strong in faith till the dreams that you have given us are fulfilled despite resistance and opposition. Amen.
