Prov. 22-24, Romans 14
"Keep your opinion to Yourself"
S- Romans 14: 19 Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.
O- In this passage of scripture Paul is warning us not to judge or voice our opinions about other people's beliefs with food. Some may feel it is not sacred to eat meat on certain days, and we may oppose of that. He is cautioning us to keep our opinions about food to ourselves, because all food is clean, and it wrong to eat or drink something if it would cause someone else to stumble,
A- I have relative that is a very strong Catholic, and she believes it is wrong to eat meat on Friday's. I do not believe that, but I would be wrong to serve her meat on Friday, and it would be disrespectful to her and what she believes. God wants us to be in one accord, even in the little things that really don't matter. Choose your battles as to what could possibly bring dissension, and flee from that subject.
P-Father, thank you that you make us all different, and with our different opinions. Each one of us is unique and created by you, and special. Lord help us to hold our tongues and control our opinions about each other, unless it is an opinion of edification and the building up of each other. Thank you for everyone's uniqueness and differences. Amen
