Thursday May 13, 2010 2 Sam. 24; 1 Chr.21; Psalm 30; 1 Thes. 2 "Teach me your timing to dance."
S- 1 Thes. 2:7 but we were gentle among you, like a mother caring for her little children.
O- Paul is complimenting the Thessalonica for their hearts to hear the words of God, and to listen. He tells them that he is not hear to get their approval but rather Gods. They are gentle in their ministering and had no ulterior motives other than to share their knowledge of the truth of Jesus Christ. It was effortless for them to do so, and Paul was very gentle in his presentation of God's love for His people. All was well received.
A- What was different with the Thessalonians than the Philli, where they had been insulted and mocked? Was it Paul or the hearts of the people. Paul's heart is pure in just wanting to spread the word of his testimony. It's timing and heart condition. Sometimes when we speak about our testimony it can sound like judgement and looking down on others. The timing of the harvest has to be right. When hearts are soft and receiving is the timing to brag about what the Lord has done in our lives, to help someone......like a dance Lord, teach us your perfect timing, your grace, and your perfect step.
P- Lord, send us people who need to hear your word and the testimonies of all that you have done in our lives. Give us YOUR timing Lord when the fields are ripe and ready. Let us not jump ahead or be hasty to want to force the word of your love on someone but rather, let them come ready, and let our hearts be gentle and not condemning. Teach us to Love like you Love....see like you see....hear like you hear....extend grace like you extend grace. Amen
