Wednesday - May 19, 2010 - 1 Kings 4,5; 2 Chronicles 2; Psalm 101; 2 Thessalonians 3
S - 1 Kings 4:29 - God gave Solomon wisdom and very great insight, and a breadth of understanding as measureless as the sand on the seashore.
O - King Solomon was the wisest man.
A - The world respects intelligence and wisdom. And yet even with all his wisdom, Solomon turned away from God when he was old. And so, even though to be wise is wonderful, it is even better to be fully devoted to God, as Solomon's father David was. Man values intelligence, but God values a heart devoted to Him.
P - Lord, give me a heart like David's and wisdom like Solomon's. If I have to choose, I would rather be devoted to you all my days, than to know all the answers for everything.
