S - Ps. 63:1 - O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you, my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water."
O - David was in a desert, a place of barreness, a place of lack. There were few resources to turn to so he turned to God with great intensity. He was seeking God's presence and his comfort. He needed Abba Father's arms around him. How did David seek God? This psalm says that he sought him through spoken declarations. "O God, you are my God." He sought God with intensity. "Earnestly I seek you," and he sought Him through the vehicle of singing. Verse 4 says "I will praise you as long as I live and in your name, I will lift up my hands," and verse 5 says "with singing lips my mouth will praise you." Verse 7 says "I sing in the shadow of your wings." When we seek God in prayer, in faith declarations and worship, we come into the place of his presence.
A - God meets people in the place of worship.
Prayer - Lord, with faith filled lips, with singing lips, we seek you today. Meet your people in the place of worship today and this Easter Sunday, as we celebrate your loving gift of salvation and your wonderful resurrection power. Amen.
