A BROKEN AND CONTRITE HEART

S--Psalm. 57:16a-17 “You do not delight in sacrifice or I would bring it.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit and a broken and contrite heart…”

O--David lusted and then slept with a married woman, then had her husband killed. David was filled with remorse, he had a broken and contrite heart because he had so badly sinned against God and man.

A--David failed his God, his army, and his country men. We, like David, fail often and we can’t buy our way out of sin by gifts or sacrifices. What God is looking for is a truly repented spirit. God knows our heart and will forgive us when we repent. He is a good, loving and forgiving God.

P-- Oh God, thank you for your grace, mercy and forgiveness.
