Wednesday - May 4, 2011 - 2 Samuel 8-9; 1 Chronicles 18-19; Matthew 21
S - Matthew 21:43 Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.
O - Jesus was speaking to the Pharisees. He had compared them to the son who said he would work, but didn't and also to the tenants of the vineyard who mistreated the owner's servants and killed his son.
A - What are we doing to advance the kingdom of God? Are we sitting here in our cushy churches with our fancy titles of position snubbing the commoners and not doing the work that Jesus set before us? I do not want to stand on the sidelines and not participate in the harvest. Harvest time is a joyous time - a time to celebrate and to WORK.
P - Lord, enable me and strengthen me to work for You. Don't take Your kingdom from me. I want to produce fruit for You!
