POST SIGNS MARKING GOD'S RIGHT-OF-WAY!

by Diana Kriesel

Monday, 5/9/11 – 2 Samuel 17; Psalm 71; Matthew 26 – “Post Signs Marking God’s Right-of-Way!” [the Message Bible]

S=Scripture; O=Observation; A=Application; P=Prayer

S– Psalm 71:16 – “I come in the power of the Lord God, I post signs marking His right-of-way.”

O – David is in a posture of praise and joy, arising from his faith and hope in God. His fears about his enemies have been silenced, his hopes raised and his prayers turned to thanksgiving and proclamation. David declares that he will continually record and celebrate God’s countless acts of goodness and mercy.

A – It is our responsibilities as followers of the Lord to not sit down in despair, but stir ourselves up and go forth, not in our strength, but in God’s strength, depending only on Him. From that posture, we arise and become a carrier, posting signs marking His right-of-way along the path for others to see and also become faith-filled on their journeys. David declares that he leans only on the power of God and not on his own strength.

P – Lord, thank You for Your amazing faithfulness! Bring to our remembrance how You have been with us throughout our lives; and how often You have stepped in and delivered us, restored us, protected us. We want to post signs along the way of all Your goodness, glory and faithfulness for others to see and glorify You.
