Happy Are The People!
S – Psalms 144:15 “Happy are the people who are in such a state; Happy are the People whose God is the Lord!
O – David is praising God as the Deliverer and acknowledging that He is the one who brings blessings and prosperity. He is the One who brings hope and a state of happiness to all that acknowledge Him as being their God.
A - Happy are the people whose God is the Lord! Such a simple verse, but a verse packed with so much meaning and power! Can I say happy are the people when I’m sick? When I’m facing financial difficulties? When a loved one dies? When I’m faced with insurmountable obstacles? Once we begin to understand the character of God, that He is good, faithful, merciful, kind, gracious, loving; that brings with it a hope that His desire for us is to bring us into a “state of happiness”. He will deliver us, and or walk us through, whatever problem or undesirable situation we are faced with. He is the Victorious One and He gives me courage and strength, and you courage and strength to overcome and to walk through whatever circumstance we may face. In answer to the questions….Yes, I can say, and you can say, “Happy are the people whose God is the Lord!”
P- Heavenly Father you are the Mighty One, who gives us a hope and a future. We do not need to walk in a state of fear or hopelessness. Keep us ever mindful of Your great love towards us and that you have a hope and a future for each of us that are called the children of God. We acknowledge that you are good and say, happy are those whose God is the Lord! Amen.
