Wednesday, August 31, 2011 - Ezekiel 12-14; Revelation 5
S - Ezekiel 13:10 "'Because they lead my people astray, saying, "Peace," when there is no peace, and because, when a flimsy wall is built, they cover it with whitewash,...'"
O - God is telling Ezekiel that He is sending destruction to Israel because of the prophets who claim to prophesy in God's name.
A - We're people pleasers, aren't we? We want people to feel good so they keep coming back. We tell them what they want to hear, what we want to hear, in the name of Jesus, even when we haven't heard it by the Holy Spirit. Sin is sin and God will punish for it. Yes, God is love; He is also just and righteous. God wants us to tell people who He really is, not who they want Him to be so they can continue in their sin without feeling bad about it.
P - Lord, help me to always tell the truth about who You are and what sin is. I want to not be so intent on making people feel good and more intent on showing them the Truth and who You really are. Thank You for your love AND your justice, Lord.
