Tuesday 3/22/2011 Joshua 12-14; 1 Corinthians 7 - STAY STRONG PHYSICALLY!
S - Joshua 14:10-12 “Now then, just as the LORD promised, he has kept me alive for forty-five years since the time he said this to Moses, while Israel moved about in the wilderness. So here I am today, eighty-five years old! I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out; I’m just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then. Now give me this hill country... !"
O - Caleb speaks of the time he spied out the land years ago; Moses, seeing his wholehearted devotion and faith, declared the land would be his inheritance one day. Caleb is just as ready now to take the land because he has remained in good, strong physical health.
A - What assignments does the Lord have for us in the future? Will we be like Caleb, still believing, still trusting, still strong physically and emotionally to "take the land?" This requires dedication now to our health. This means we must "keep moving" our bodies and eating well to remain strong. Our health efforts today may very well influence our future ability to carry out our call.
P - Father, thank you for these incredible bodies that you have given us. May we take seriously the call to stay strong. May we think about the future when we live out our days today; may we be like Caleb, just as strong at 85 as he was at 40! Wow!
