Tuesday 10/11/11 Nehemiah 5,6; Psalm 146; Luke 24 - Way to Go, Peter!
S=Scripture; O=Observation; A=Application; P=Prayer
S - Luke 24:9,11,12 JBP, Then they did remember what he had said, and they turned their backs on the tomb and went and told all this to the eleven and the others who were with them... But it struck them as sheer imagination, and they did not believe the women. Only Peter got up and ran to the tomb. He stooped down and saw nothing but the linen clothes lying there...
O - The women witnessed the empty tomb and the two angels who reminded them that Jesus had said he would be crucified and rise on the third day. Only Peter, out of all 11 apostles, even was curious enough to go check out their story!
A - Wow, this amazes me! I don't think anything could have held me back from checking out the womens' report of the empty tomb. Is it really true that only Peter went to check it out? I really like Peter! He didn't always handle things properly, but he sure had passion!! He lived a large life - full of convictions and curiosity and passion.
P - Father, spur us on with fire and passion for your Kingdom and your ways. May we be child-like, full of curiosity and wonderment. May we never grow dull in expectation of what You can and will do! Amen.
