Monday, 1/11/10 – Genesis 27-28; Psalm 4; Luke 11 – AWAKEN TO THE REALITY OF HIS PRESENCE!
S— Genesis 28:16 - When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, "Surely the LORD is in this place, and I was not aware of it." NIV
O— When Jacob awakened, he was overcome with the reality of God’s presence…and also the fact that he was had not even been AWARE of that presence. God came to Jacob to show him that he was to carry with him the sacred awe of the gracious presence of Jehovah with his departure to a foreign land…God proved to Him that He was near, in such a powerful way that Jacob could take the reality of His presence wherever he was going. God manifested Himself and His favor to Jacob when he was asleep and passive, but He was undeniably present. There is no place that is excluded from divine visitation from God.
A— Sometimes God shows up in our lives in ways we never thought He would be, and sometimes we miss Him completely. One of my favorite ways He shows up is when we have had a struggle or a difficulty, and we may be overwhelmed by what we have been going through, and ahhhh…. His presence comes and the reality of who He is, and His faithfulness to us not only lifts us, but we are able to say, like Jacob, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it.”
P— Thank You Lord, that You even come in the night seasons of our lives and minister to us, and bring forth Your presence to strengthen us and restore us and set our focus back on You. Help us to walk in the reality of Your presence!
