Sunday - 1/31/2010 - Exodus 28,29; Acts 7
S - Acts 7:51 (NIV) - You stiff-necked people, with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are just like your fathers: You always resist the Holy Spirit!
O - Stephen was speaking to the Sanhedrin and showing them their condition. Their hearts and ears were "uncircumcised," meaning they still needed to cut away that which would hold sin and filth close to their hearts and ears. They really did not want to be led by the Holy Spirit.
A - Let us be open to what the Holy Spirit is telling us. There are always those among the body of Christ who speak against and resist the prompting of the Holy Spirit, those who speak against the prophets and try to destroy them. Let us not resist the Holy Spirit and let us allow Him to give us discernment. We are so busy making sure the false prophet does not deceive us that we ignore what the true prophets are saying.
P - Father God, give me eyes to see You and ears to hear You, that I might not miss what You tell me and show me through the Holy Spirit.
